About Brightwaters
Brightwaters Christian College is part of Christian Education Ministries (CEM), a protestant non-denominational, Christian Education organisation, whose mission is to develop each and every student to be equipped spiritually, academically, socially and physically to flourish and be a positive influence on the world around them. CEM is wholeheartedly committed to excellence in education so that students are “well known, well loved, and well taught” by dedicated, trained, Christian staff.
CEM is a growing network, with 13 schools in 5 states, and is also the largest non-government Distance Education provider in Australia.
Brightwaters Christian College is located on the beautiful western shores of Lake Macquarie and caters for K-9 (and seeking NESA approval for Year 10 in 2025). The College is a co-ed, Christian school that is blessed with a spacious and modern campus. While the school community is smaller, the learning culture is strong and the potential to grow the school great.

Requirements
Applications are sought from suitably qualified and experienced teachers with a passion for supporting students with diverse needs. This role is a full-time role providing small group initiatives for students with learning needs, working with teachers in supporting these students in their class, coming alongside the Learning Support team to ensure students are well supported and all appropriate administration is completed, and working with parents to develop partnership to help each student to find their success.
The position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for identity, rights to work in Australia, and child protection in accordance with CEM policy.
About You
- Be able to display the capacity to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
- Be able to demonstrate excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Be able to receive feedback on your teaching and implement changes.
- Be able to effectively plan for, collect and analyse educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes.
- Have an active Christian faith, suitable tertiary qualifications and NESA accreditation (or be eligible).

Requirements
An opportunity exists to join a fantastic, committed Christian team, in teaching and supporting students within a Christian environment and biblical worldview. We are seeking applications from qualified primary teachers who are enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to Christian schooling.
This role can be full-time or part-time and is due to start in January 2025.

- You have suitable teaching qualifications and are registered with NESA (or eligible to be registered).
- You are enthusiastic and have excellent interpersonal skills.
- You’re willing to receive feedback on your teaching and implement changes in your pursuit of excellence as a teacher.
- You care deeply for your students and desire to see them grow and flourish mentally, physically, socially and spiritually, as they develop the resilience and character to succeed beyond school.
- You have a strong commitment to Christian schooling and are able to teach from a biblical worldview..
- You have an active Christian faith and regularly attend church
